Support for parents navigating challenges at home, based on the Behavioural Parent Training Groningen (BPTG) model.

Welcome!

Hi, this is Sanne! If this is your first time visiting my page, check out my home page to learn more about my approach and background.

About this service

Parenting can be incredibly rewarding, and incredibly tough. When a child struggles with behaviour, emotions, or development, it often affects the whole family system. This service is designed to support parents in building practical skills, gaining insight into what drives their child’s behaviour, and feeling more confident in their parenting role.

I work with the Behavioural Parent Training Groningen (BPTG) model, a structured, evidence-based approach that focuses on strengthening positive parent-child interactions and improving behaviour through clear routines, boundaries, and communication. At the same time, I tailor the sessions to your specific questions and family values, this is not a one-size-fits-all approach.

My role is not to judge, but to stand beside you as we explore what’s working, what’s not, and what might help your family move forward.

Who can benefit

This service is for parents of children or teens who are struggling with behavioural challenges, emotional regulation, ADHD, autism, or executive functioning difficulties. It’s also suitable for parents who feel stuck, stressed, or unsure about how to respond to their child’s needs.

You might be dealing with daily conflicts, meltdowns, difficulties around school or routines, or simply want more tools to support your child with confidence and consistency.

How it works

We begin with an intake session to get a clear picture of your child, your family situation, and your goals. After that, we usually meet for a set number of sessions weekly or biweekly (often around 6–10), depending on your needs. Sessions are held online or in person and can be attended by one or both caregivers. Based on your preference, sessions can be 50 or 80 minutes.

Each session has a practical focus, for example, understanding your child’s behaviour, setting up routines, giving effective instructions, using rewards and consequences, or managing your own stress as a parent. I also provide handouts and optional exercises to try at home between sessions.

The BPTG framework provides structure, while still allowing space to adapt our work to what feels relevant and realistic for your family.

What to expect

Many parents find it helpful to take a step back and reflect, not just on their child’s behaviour, but on their own patterns, expectations, and strengths. Over time, you can expect more structure at home, fewer power struggles, and a better understanding of what your child needs to thrive.

Progress often comes in small steps, but those steps can make a big difference. You’ll leave with concrete strategies, increased confidence, and a stronger connection with your child.
